Term Time plus 5 Training Days – 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 4.00 pm, 30 min lunch

An exciting opportunity to be part of a new and developing school which aims to be an outstanding provider to children in the local area. We are looking to appoint a motivated, passionate and caring Pastoral and Family Support Champion to join our dedicated staff. The Pastoral and Family Support Champion would be responsible for providing support for children with social and emotional difficulties, by promoting their emotional literacy skills, curriculum engagement, positive behaviour and wellbeing. They will also work closely with families to provide effective support and guidance, reduce barriers to engagement and improve children’s outcomes. 

What are we looking for? Someone who has: 

• At least 2 years' experience as a Teaching Assistant 

• Experience of working with children with a range of social, emotional and wellbeing needs 

• Child-centred vision with excellent listening and communication skills 

• Experience of working closely with parents and building trust 

• Adaptability, empathy and a ‘can-do’ attitude 

• Knowledge and understanding of the pastoral needs of students with additional needs 

• Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills 

• Passion for improving outcomes for children and their families

Who are we? 

The Manor Drive Primary Academy is a new school in the north of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. The school welcomed the first cohort of Reception children in September 2022 and will continue to grow year on year. At Manor Drive Primary Academy we pride ourselves on having a strong wellbeing ethos whilst ensuring our children are the focus of everything we do. Our values of ‘Work Hard, Be Kind and Be Brave” are embedded in our teaching strategies and the expectations we have for staff and pupils.
