Fulbridge Academy, Peterborough, one of the Four Cs Trust primary schools, was pleased to host a visit by The Rt Hon Bridget Phillipson MP, Secretary of State for Education, on Monday 31 March 2025.  This visit took place to recognise the excellent practice in terms of Early Years educational provision in the on-site Nursery, and to mark additional Government funding into the Academy of £150,000.

Investment in Early Years is the guiding principle that shapes the thinking and ethos of the Early Years settings in Four Cs Trust schools and the provision at Fulbridge Academy aims to develop and nurture this core philosophy at the heart of everything it does.  Fully qualified Early Years staff at Fulbridge are only too aware of the essential nature of secure attachment with trusted adults to ensure that each child can fulfil their potential.  By offering supportive caregiving and interest early on, every child feels safe to explore the outside world.

Securing this well-targeted funding for extra nursery provision from Central Government, will enable Fulbridge Academy to maximise and extend to its local community the offer of exceptional quality in nursery provision from the age of 3 upwards.  This nursery provision is an opportunity to offer each child a holistic beginning to their educational, social, emotional, and mental health journey.

Activities during the visit included shop role play, time in the sandpit and reading to children and the Trust would like to thank the Secretary of State for visiting us and speaking and playing with some of our youngest Nursery children.
