Instructional Coaching

Colleagues across the Trust came together today for Instructional Coaching, delivered by Executive Principal, Ben Erskine

This session introduced Instructional Coaching as a powerful approach to improving teaching and learning. Colleagues explored the why? - examining the research and rationale behind coaching, before moving to the how? - bringing the model to life through practical examples of coaching in action. The session addressed common pitfalls and misconceptions, including why coaching can fail when it becomes evaluative or poorly implemented, and considered strategies for 'coaching the uncoachable'. Dedicated time was allowed to discuss, reflect and share best practice, before concluding with implementation planning to support sustainable and impactful practice.
